Our lives as educators right now are certainly challenging. But—all virtual PD means we can engage in professional learning that we perhaps were previously unable to attend in-person!

This fall, you have FOUR choices of time zones to attend the one-day workshop The Fountas & Pinnell Literacy Continuum, Expanded Edition: A Tool for Assessment, Planning, and Teaching.

11/04/2020 - Central Time (CT) - Virtual Workshop, Online

11/17/2020 - Eastern Time (ET) - Virtual Workshop, Online

12/02/2020 - Pacific Time (PT) - Virtual Workshop, Online

12/10/2020 - Alaska Time (AKT) - Virtual Workshop, Online

There has never been a more comprehensive resource available to teachers that does what The Literacy Continuum does—provide specific behaviors and understandings that are required at each grade level for each continua. These behaviors and understandings describe what students will be expected to do in order to effectively read, write, and understand texts.

In this virtual one-day workshop, you'll explore the eight continua that comprise The Fountas & Pinnell Literacy Continuum, Expanded Edition: A Tool for Assessment, Planning, and Teaching:

  • Interactive Read-Aloud and Literature Discussion
  • Shared and Performance Reading
  • Writing About Reading
  • Writing
  • Oral and Visual Communication
  • Technological Communication
  • Phonics, Spelling, and Word Study
  • Guided Reading

If you are a PreK-8 classroom teacher, literacy coach, reading/language arts specialist, curriculum coordinator, or administrator looking to learn how this resource supports students' development of the literacy process, this is the workshop for you.

Each workshop will run from 8:30am-3:30pm in the noted time zone and registration includes a copy of The Fountas & Pinnell Literacy Continuum, Expanded Edition, which will be mailed to you.

A day of professional learning could be just what you need to refresh and refocus your work with students this fall!
