Food: Learn About Different Traditions

Food: Learn About Different Traditions

Reach out to a few friends, relatives, and other parents who have different traditions in their cultures or their families that involve special meals. Through the telephone, email, or video chat, have your child interview them about about those food traditions. Why does the tradition exist? What does it represent or commemorate? What are the foods, and why? Who prepares the meal? What do you like about your tradition? If possible, get recipes from those who participate and try cooking them with your child.
