Use Paper Plate Palettes

Use Paper Plate Palettes

Place three drops of paint on a paper plate (one red, one yellow, and one blue). Provide the child with a few cotton swabs or cotton balls to use as brushes to mix the different colors together. Encourage them to talk about what they are noticing about how colors change when mixed together (yellow and blue mixed together make green). Have them use their mixed colors to paint a picture. Talk about which colors they used in the picture, and why.
