Write and Illustrate a Story
Tell the child that they can tell stories using words and pictures. If needed, choose some books to read together with strong illustration. Fold and staple several sheets of paper to make a small book, or use bookmaking materials. Give the child the blank book and tell them they are going to to tell a story of their own. Their story can be about things that really happened, make believe, or information to teach people things about something, like an animal or different foods. Provide writing and drawing materials, and let the child make their book.
