Talk to the child about using pictures to tell stories. Brainstorm books in which the illustrations help to tell the story. Get out a notebook or blank book and art supplies, and tell the child that they are going to use pictures to tell a story of their own. Their stories can be about things that really happened, made-up stories, or stories that teach people things about something, like vehicles, animals, or places.
