Sing a Song
Introduce the child to the song, “Animals on the Farm,” sung to the tune of “The Wheels on the Bus.” (“The cow in the barn goes moo, moo, moo. Moo, moo, moo. Moo, moo, moo. The cow in the barn goes moo, moo, moo, all around the farm.”) Repeat the song with other farm animals and the sounds they make. You can vary the location as well, if the child is able to identify different areas on the farm, for example: the pig in the pen, chicken in the coop, ducks in the pond, sheep in the field, etc.
