Innovate a Familiar Nursery Rhyme
Choose a nursery rhyme that your child is familiar with and innovate on it by substituting names, other rhyming words, or even silly words. For example you can substitute the child's name for “Mary” in “Mary Had a Little Lamb,” or substitute different animals in “To Market, To Market.” Set an example of how to make a substitution, and then ask the child to write down three substitutions of their own.
