Draw a Self-Portrait

Trace the outline of the child's body on butcher paper, and then cut out the outlines. Provide art supplies for the child to fill in their outline to create a self-portrait. Discuss some of the ways that the outline could belong to almost anyone, not just the child (for example, the the child have arms and legs, fingers and toes, they wear clothing and shoes). Then talk about some of the differences in the added artwork that are unique to the child (for example, the child will have different color hair, eyes, skin, and different styles or colors of clothes than other people).
