Take a Photograph That Tells a Story
Thinking about the use of photographs in books, invite the student to take photographs of their own. Using a smartphone camera, a camera from home, a laptop camera, or a school camera, have the student capture an image of nature, family members, animals, an activity, or an object. Encourage the student to try and take a photograph that they feel tells a story. Once the student has taken their photographs, have them write an accompanying paragraph that explains the story the picture is capturing.
