Explore Different Cultures
To gain more insight into the ways that cultures can change over time, have the student choose a culture other than their own to explore through research on the Internet or in reference books. Have the student address different aspects of the culture: history, traditions, beliefs, culture and dress, diet, and so on. Allow them time to conduct research and decide on a way of sharing their findings, then discuss what they learned and how it fits with what they already know.
