Reflect on a Personal Moment of Perseverance
Have the student reflect on a difficult time or a challenging occurrence. It could be something that is current, something that has happened in the past, or an ongoing problem. Invite the student to write about the struggle, including why it was hard for them, how they either persevered or didn’t, what they learned, and what they might do differently the next time. For example, if the student writes about how they struggle with math, they might write about the problem, how it makes them feel, what their reaction has been in the past, and how they might take a different approach in the future to practice perseverance.
