Problem-Solving in Real Life

Brainstorming topics with the child for practical issues or problems in their immediate environment, such as in the neighborhood or at school. For example, the problem could be something like a lack of basketballs at recess, broken swings at the park, not enough books in the library, or why only certain individuals are invited to join a club. Encourage the student to gather information about the problem, what is causing it, and possible solutions. Brainstorm ways to overcome any obstacles they encounter, and discuss how to work with other people in positions of power to achieve their goal. Have the student write about their experiences.
