Record Observations

Record Observations

Hand out plastic, re-sealable bags to the child, labeled with their name. Have the child dampen a paper towel, fold it, and put it in the bag. Then give the child a dry lima bean to place on top of the paper towel. Have them seal the bag. Tape each bag on a window where it will get sunlight. Over the next 3-5 days, have the the child watch their beans sprout and have them record their bean’s growth daily, using words and illustrations. (Add water to paper towels as needed). Continue to record the development over 7-14 days as the bean develops roots. Have the child write down their observations and illustrations.
