Count Objects
Brainstorm all the ways we use numbers to count, like things the child must count throughout a school day. Have the child write a list of the examples, and continue to add to the list all week long. See all the ways that numbers are useful in daily life! Which is the most common? Which is the biggest number they had to count that week?
