Role Play Being a Friend

Talk to the child about what makes someone seem “different.” (They might mention dressing differently, eating different foods, or speaking a different language). Brainstorm a list of ways that you can get to know someone better and go from being strangers to being friends (for example, ask them to play, sit with them at lunch). Then have the child role play what they can say and do to be a good friend to someone.
