Find Ways to Feel Better

Discuss with the child different situations in which they might feel sad, lonely, scared, or angry. Ask: “When you felt that way, what made you feel better?” The child can write a list of the answers. Talk through the child's responses together, and draw attention to strategies that are repeated, for example, multiple answers that involve spending time with a loved one, or multiple answers that involve going outdoors.
