Create a Friendship Tree

Prepare some art supplies: a drawing of a tree trunk and bare branches; large leaves cut out of green construction paper; markers; and a glue stick. Ask the child to complete a few different responses to the sentence: “I like friends who ___.” Talk about the importance of having the same qualities that you would choose in a friend, like being kind, being loyal, or being a good listener. Have the child write the qualities they chose on the leaves, then glue them to the tree branches.
