Ask Questions About Non-fiction Books
Select a few non-fiction books for the child to read. After reading, work with the child to prepare a two-column, five-row list on a piece of paper, a poster, or a page in a Reader's Notebook. In the first column, have the child write down interesting facts that they learned from the books. In the second column, have them write down a related question that they have and would like to learn more about. Use the Internet and reference books to gather more information to those questions.
