Observe Insects

If you are able to observe insects in a natural setting, take a nature walk with the child and ask them to draw an insect’s body. The child may include observations about its size, color, and movements. If it is possible to observe various insects over a period of time, have the child collect their drawings and information in a “Bug Book” or a notebook called “Insect Information.” Continue to share similarities and differences between insects.
