Have a Plant Picnic
Have the child discuss their favorite foods or meals. Talk about the ingredients in these foods, and identify which ones are plants. Tell the child they are going to plan a “plant picnic.” Work together to plan a menu, with the main ingredients in all of the items fruits or vegetables, such as fruit salad, lettuce (salad), potato salad, muffins made with berries, fruit pie, etc. Bonus: really gather the items and hold a plant picnic.
