Explore Challenges

Discuss with the student some of the challenges they have faced, large and small. Make a two-column chart on chart paper and brainstorm a list with the student. In the first column, write down small, everyday challenges, such as getting chores done or completing difficult homework. In the second column, write down some bigger challenges, like moving to a new place or dealing with the loss of a pet or a loved one. Talk about what the student learned from all of these situations.
