Think More About Big Issues

Share a book that has a strong author point of view on a societal issue, such as Oil Spill!, What's So Bad About Gasoline?, Energy Island, Meadowlands, or Almost Gone. Have the student choose one or more facts or ideas from the book that they’re particularly interested in exploring further. For example, the student might do further research on the special pads that clean up oil spills, based on the book Oil Spill! Have the student present their findings, and talk about why they chose that particular information to research further.
