Develop Talents and Skills

Everyone has something that they enjoy or that they are good at. In order to help the student identify and develop their unique skills or talents, invite them to choose a skill that they want to improve upon. The student might choose a skill that they have already practiced, or they may choose something they’ve never tried before. Encourage the student to choose something that they are passionate about. For the student who doesn’t know what to choose, brainstorm together, or use the Internet to research common skills (like public speaking, art, or athletic ability) or hidden talents (like juggling, memory skills, or hula hooping). The student can keep a journal to track their progress.
