Sing a Weather Song

Sing a Weather Song

Teach the child a weather song (sung to the tune of “Clementine”). You can sing the song each day as you talk about the daily weather and observe the weather outside. Substitute other words and phrases as needed to fit the weather in your region. “What’s the weather? What’s the weather? What’s the weather like today? Tell me, buddy, what’s the weather? What’s the weather like today? Is it sunny, is it rainy, is it windy out today? Tell me, buddy, what’s the weather, what’s the weather like today?” Introduce the child to more songs that have to do with the weather, such as “It’s Raining, It’s Pouring,” “Rain, Rain, Go Away,” and “Frosty Weather.”
