Create Dot Art

Create Dot Art

Prep some special art supplies: a set of 10 dots the size of dimes, cut from construction paper; a glue stick; drawing materials; and a piece of paper. Instruct the child to arrange the dots as the outline to a shape, then glue the dots down. Then, the child can use the drawing materials to 'connect the dots' and fill in the rest of the art piece. For example, dots arranged in a circle could become the earth, a wagon wheel, or a smiling face. When finished, have them write or dictate a sentence or label to describe what they made.
